Join us for an exciting wildlife photography workshop in Valparai, one of South India’s most beautiful and rewarding destinations for nature lovers and photographers. Surrounded by lush tea estates, misty hills, and rich evergreen forests, Valparai offers the perfect setting to capture a wide variety of birds in their natural habitat. This workshop is ideal for both beginners and experienced photographers who want to improve their skills while exploring one of the Western Ghats’ most scenic birding hotspots.
Participants will experience guided sessions in one of Tamil Nadu’s most inspiring wildlife landscapes, with practical learning in the field and expert guidance throughout the workshop. Rathika and her team makes sure you will get indiviudal attention in the field .
Valparai, Anamalai Tiger Reserve :
Valparai in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve is famous for its rich biodiversity: it has dense forests, a wide range of habitats, and a very high diversity of plants and animals. The area is especially well known for rare Western Ghats species such as the Lion-tailed macaque, Nilgiri tahr, Asian elephant, Leopard, and many endemic birds and orchids. It is birdwatchers hotspot, because it supports Hornbills, Junglefowl, Barbets, Eagles, and many Western Ghats endemic birds.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Saturday : 10th October 2026
• Pickup from Coimbatore Airport or designated pickup point.
• Drive to Valparai.
• Check-in ,Valparai hotel, and lunch.
• Introduction session and camera settings briefing.
• 3:00 PM: Birding session.
• Evening image review and planning for the next day’s shoot.
Day 2 : Sunday : 11th October 2026
• Birding session and breakfast .
Looking for Lion-tailed macaque photography.
• Lunch- Check out from Valparai hotel and Check in Analy Estate
• Post-lunch exploration of local biodiversity and Elephants.
Day 3 : Monday : 12th October 2026
• Full-day field sessions. Looking for Hornbills and birds of western ghats .
Day 4 : Tuesday : 13th October 2026
• Morning session.
• Check out and departure to Coimbatore.
• En route stop for Nilgiri Tahr sighting.
• Workshop concludes

* Registration and payment: A registration is confirmed only after full payment or receipt of a confirmed deposit.
* Non‑refundable deposit: Fifty percent (50%) of the total workshop fee is non‑refundable.
* Cancellation by participant: Cancellations made less than one month (30 days) before the workshop start date are not eligible for a refund. Cancellations made 45 days or more before the start date may be eligible for refund of amounts paid in excess of the non‑refundable 50% deposit, subject to transaction fees.
*Rathika Ramasamy Photography is organising the workshop. It does not own or operate or control any transport company, hotel etc. We will take care of all arrangements with most care, but it since it has no control in their operation, it cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage, injury or death which may be caused by the act or default of the management or employees of any, hotels, airlines, transport company.
*Littering and taking anything from nature trails is strictly prohibited. All parks has certain rules to follow, everyone has to follow the rules. Breaking the rules is series offence.
*All our photography workshops we follow ethics of wildlife photography, Nesting Photography and sharing information about nesting places are not permitted.
*Group video, photographs we will use for promotion purpose. If any individual does not agree, feel free to inform us via email or whatzup message before the workshop.
*Don’t take locals and other participants without their permission. Don’t share them without concerned person permission.
*Alcohol & Smoking is strictly prohibited during the workshop.
*Rathika Ramasamy Photography will not be held responsible in case of any legal action mentioned above points.
*It is wildlife, Rathika Ramasamy Photography does not guarantee any wildlife sightings. Participants should come with open mind. Though we try capture all check list birds.
